PUSoL organize regularly events to motivate the students and to enrich their knowledge. The following Competitions were organized in 2016, namely the Client Counselling Competition, Debate Competition, Essay Writing Competition, Logo Making Competition, and Legal Personality Competition. The Competitions saw a great deal of participation from the enthusiastic students and was definitely a learning experience for them. Looking things from a lawyers’ point of view was equally a new experience for the faculty members and students of the School of Management and School of Engineering.
The team comprising of Mr. Abhishek Gupta and Ms. Vaishnavee Upreti were the Winner and the team comprising of Mr. Shaun George and Ms. Arshia Nagvi were the Runner Up of the Client Counselling Competition. The Competition was organized by Mrs. Kavya Salim, Faculty at PUSoL. The Competition simulates a law office consultation in which two law students, acting as lawyers, are presented with a client matter. The Student Lawyers identifies the Client’s problem and gives legal advice to the problem in hand. The winning team was given prizes worth Rs. 2000/- .
Ms. Anushka Singhal was declared the winner of the Debate Competition and Ms. Shwetha Chander was the Runner Up. The Competition was organized by Mr. A. Aravindan, Faculty at PUSoL. In the Debate Competition for its Preliminary rounds, the house debated on the motion ‘Culling of the Dogs- needed or not’ and for the Semi – Final and Final Rounds, the house debated on ‘Death Penalty – Boon or Bane’. The winning member was given prizes worth Rs. 1000/- .
The winner of the Essay Writing Competition was Mr. Prajwal Vishwanath who wrote on ‘Unity in Diversity and the Constitution of India’. The Competition was organized by Mr. Sujith P. Surendran, Faculty at PUSoL. The winning member was given prizes worth Rs. 1000/- .
For the Logo making Competition, Ms. Simran Singh bagged the first place with Ms. Veda Mohana in the second place. The Competition was organized by Mrs. Kavya Salim, Faculty at PUSoL. The participants were asked to create logos for the Moot Court Association, Law Debating Society, Legal Literary Committee, Law Cultural Committee. The winning member was given prizes worth Rs. 1000/- .
Ms. Anushka Singhal was declared as the Best Legal Personality. The Competition was organized by Mr. A. Aravindan, Faculty at PUSoL. The Legal Personality Competition was introduced to test the personality of the students as a lawyer, a professional; it also tested the attitude, aptitude, current awareness etc. The winning member was given prizes worth Rs. 1000/- .
Mr. P.M. Prabhakaran, Partner at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys distributed the prizes to the Winners and Runner Ups of various Competitions.
