Engineer’s Day in India is celebrated as a tribute to the greatest Indian Engineer and Bharat Ratna award Mokshadunda Vishveshwarayya popularly known as Sir MV who was born on 15 th September, 1861.
Department of Student Affairs, organized ‘Engineer’s Day’ event at University Campus. Pro Vice Chancellor , Dean’s of different Schools , Hod’s , and Directors were present to note the importance and significance of the Day. Engineer’s Day is celebrated to feel proud of the engineers of our country and to celebrate their achievements in each and every field of science and technology. In the economic progress and development of a country engineers play a very crucial role and contribution.
”Vice Chancellor, Dr. Radha Padmanabhan conveyed her message in her absentia by appreciating the efforts of the Engineers in making of future Engineers by molding them with a holistic approach, she also thanked the Chancellor for all the support to make the School of Engineering to reach the milestone”
Pro Vice Chancellor -Dr.Surendra Kumar wished all the Engineers by recalling the the contribution of Sir MV a true Indian who gave an identity to the world and highlighted that “ Engineering is the closest thing to magic that exists in the world’’
Dr. Venkataramu- Dean Academics , mentioned that ‘ we , Engineers can change the World! We don’t have Books in Hand, but have Revolutionary Ideas in Mind’.
Dr. Shilpa Mehta, HOD of ECE Department mentioned that ‘’Engineers build the infrastructure and Teachers build the human resource, We are fortunate to celebrate both building forces Teacher’s Day and Engineer’s Day in the month of September, So let us pledge to continue the building and move on the path of MV.
Dr. Uday Ravi, HOD of Mechanical department who gave a thought to initiate this event told that“Sir M V is an Engineer statesmen from Karnataka who has contributed to whole India who hails from Muddenahalli which is near to our university Chikkaballapur District His house and Sepulchre can be visited to pay respects .He also shared that he is a member of Sir MV s foundation where many events are conducted as a tribute to him,We all need to follow his principles.
The event was concluded by Dr. Snehaprabha, Director- DSA by wishing everyone on the occasion and thanking all the dignitaries present at the venue to make the event successful and also mentioned that “ At its heart , Engineering is about using science to find creative and practical solutions, Being Engineer is indeed a noble profession’’
