Professor And Founding Director for International Relations
Dr. S. Sivaperumal is a Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) and Founding Director for International Relations at Presidency University, Bengaluru, India. Prior to this, he worked as Dean – R&D and International Relations, Director for International Relations, Director for Campus to Corporate (Placement & Training), Deputy Director of Centre for Industry, International & Research Collaborations and Head of Engineering R&D at Vel Tech (Deemed) University, Chennai, India. He also served in various apex committees such as the Board of Management (BoM), Academic Council, Research Board, Planning and Monitoring Board. He was also the Chairman of the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC) approved by the Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
He is an Academic Administrator with more than 16 years of Experience in the areas of R&D, International Relations, International Admissions, Placement / Corporate Relations, Accreditations & Ranking, Entrepreneurship – Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in a Deemed to University which has been consistently ranked in top 100 in NIRF. Managed funded projects worth more than Rs.50 Crores. Travelled to 15 Countries towards Strengthening International Collaborations and signed MoUs with more than 200 Institutions across 36 Countries. More than 375 Students were nominated to Semester Abroad and hosted 110 incoming mobility students. More than 400 Full International Students were admitted. 133 International Visiting Faculty Courses were organised.
The other experience includes contribution to Skill Development as SPoC of NSDC, Revamping the Alumni Engagements, Academic Regulation such as CBCS, implementing OBE, facing committees of UGC & MHRD for Deemed to be University Status. Served as NAAC Steering Committee and NBA Programme Coordinator.
He has Completed two Doctoral Degrees in the areas of Communication Systems and Non-Linear Controls under the Department of ECE after completing his Master of Engineering in VLSI Design & Bachelor of Engineering in ECE and published more than 35 Research Articles in International Journals and Conferences including IEEE Transaction, ASME, Taylor & Francis and Springer. Completed Projects worth more than Rs.200 Lacs funded by GTRE, CVRDE and HAL under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Organised 5 International Conferences with more than 30 International Speakers and with funding from DST and DRDO. He is also a reviewer of various journals of Elsevier, IEEE, Taylor & Francis, WSEAS etc.,
He has produced two Doctoral Candidates and Guided 30+ thesis works of M.Tech and B.Tech. Students. He has delivered more than 10 Key-Note and Invited Talks in the International and National Conferences besides Chairing sessions of more than 20. He also participated in more than 50 Conferences, Workshops, FDPs, Trainings and Courses.
