A REPORT ON FIT INDIA RUN AND WALK COMPETITION AY: 2020-21

FIT INDIA MOVEMENT is a nation-wide event to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. It was launched by Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi on 29th August 2019.

As part of FIT INDIA MOVEMENT, the department of Physical Education organised the’ 2 km Run and walk’ competition among our Faculty and Staff members (Men &Women) to keep healthy and fit.

The event was on 09/01/2021 between 2.15 pm and 3.00 pm in the different age categories. The competition was held under the direction of Prof. Dr Snehaprabha, Director, Dept of Student Welfare.

The Run and Walk competition began at 2.15 pm, inaugurated by Dr. D. Subhakar, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Beeran Moiden BM, Registrar. The Key officials, Faculty and Staff members were present at the inauguration. There were 35 registrations from both Men & Women categories and they were distributed into 4 age categories, below 40 years, below 50 years, below 60 years and above 60 years. Faculty and Staff members were actively involved in the 2 Km Run and walk competition.
