The Library – a hub of academic activities
Presidency University (PU) Library which occupies an important place in the academic life in the University is located in the first floor of the old academic block. It has facilities for reading, study cubicles, periodicals display, reference section, stacking area, internet terminals, etc. The Library remains open from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM on all working days and from 9.00 AM to 9.00 PM during comprehensive examination days.
The mission of the Library is to collect, organize and cater to the study needs of students, faculty and staff of the University, to actively support achievement of educational, research and consultancy goals of the University; to improve and enhance access to information in all forms, to use innovative technology and to build a broad based collection.
The Library has an exclusive collection of all prescribed Text books and Reference books which can be used either for reference or for home borrowing. The collection also covers the emerging areas like Communication Engineering, Nanotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, Biochemical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Petroleum Refinery, Energy Engineering, Data and Web Mining, Business, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Procurement Management, Leadership, Communication, Branding, Advertising, Selling, Administrative Law, Banking Law, Civil Procedure Code, RTI, Cyber Law, Consumer Protection Law, Contract Law etc. The Library has also built a selected collection of general reading material such as Biographies, Fiction, Philosophy, General Science, Self-improvement, Public Speaking, Religion and General reading subjects. The Library subscribes to around 153 national and international journals, 10 magazines and 10 local newspapers. The Library has more than 400 CD-ROMs on Engineering and Management related subjects.
The Library renders standard services such as reference, readers’ guidance, internet access and reprography (photocopy, scanning and printing) to the patrons. The Library is fully automated and is RFID enabled for efficient delivery of services. The webOPAC is accessible all over the campus and can be used for searching the collection as well as for reservation of books. The library is under CCTV monitored surveillance.

IEEE – Digital Library Full :Text of 170 journals.
J-Gate Engineering and Technology (JET) :8000+ Indexed and 4000+ full text journals in Science, Engineering and Technology.
ASTM Digital Library :1500+ Technical reports, 35600 chapters & papers and 17,000 full-text articles.
J-Gate Social and Management Sciences :10,000+ Indexed and 4,000+ full text journals in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Proquest ABI/INFORM Global :4,000+ full-text journals, dissertations, working papers, reports etc.
NPTEL :Video lectures from NPTEL, MIT, Stanford, etc.
Manupatra :Legislative, regulatory contents, commentaries, treatises, digests, editorial enhancements, cases, judgements etc.
Special Service for Research
The Library has taken institutional membership with six well-reputed Institutions/Libraries, namely, DELNET, IIM Bangalore, Indian Institute of Science, British Library Bangalore, American Library Chennai and IASLIC (Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centers). Membership with these institutions facilitates the faculty and students avail the services of these institutions/Libraries and Inter Library Loan (ILL) of books and articles
Promotion of reading habits
The Library regularly organizes activities for promoting reading habits amongst the student community. These include special book displays, library quizzes, competitions, games.
